When I read the story last week about the firefighters in Wisconsin who pulled a yellow Labrador Retriever out of a burning house (he was found very scared in an upstairs bedroom) and then saved his life, I was moved to tears. The firefighters knew they only had seconds to work on the dog since he couldn’t breathe, and since no canine equipment could be found, one of them used a technique he had seen on television. He immediately started mouth-to-snout resuscitation. Long story short, he saved Koda’s life, and he is doing just fine now. You can read more details about this story on Today.
It was such a touching story, and it got me thinking about all animal rescues. It’s such a beautiful thing when dogs and humans work together to help each other. Whether it’s a story about a dog dialing 911, or the firefighters saving Koda, it’s truly heart warming. I found this lovely collection of animal rescue photographs, and I wanted to share them with you today.
If these don’t make you feel love and compassion in your heart, you might need to check your pulse. The fourth picture down is of the firefighters saving Koda. If you would like to see more touching animal photography, check out these award-winning animal photographs. I think I’ll go give my dogs an extra little pat on the head now.
