How To Avoid Spam Phone Calls

Don’t you hate picking up a call only to find out it’s a spam call? The following are a few tips to help you avoid these types of calls.

Stop Picking Up

The easiest solution is to just stop picking up the phone. This does not mean avoiding important calls. Folks can leave a message, and you can call the people right back. A real person is going to leave a message, and robocalls won’t be able to bother you anymore. It might feel weird letting all calls go to voicemail, but it’s one way to deal with spam calls.

Using a Phone Validator

According to CDYNE, one of the most effective ways to deal with spam calls is “using a phone validator.” This software will do things like check if the number comes from a landline or cellphone, and it’ll check numbers against your own contact list. Using a good phone validator should help you screen out these types of numbers, which can be a real pain. On top of that, the software can give you quiet time by restricting calls if they come in a little too late or if you are simply busy at the time.

Change Your Number

It might be a good idea to just go ahead and change your number. You’ll want to do this if you are getting too many calls each day. Your phone number has somehow gotten into the hands of robo-callers, and there’s nothing you can do about it now. The best solution is to change your number. Yes, it is going to be a hassle telling everyone you know that your number has changed, but the alternative is to just continue dealing with spam calls, and no one wants that.

Block Numbers

If you notice that the same numbers keep trying to call you, it may be a good idea to just block those numbers. Blocking a few numbers isn’t too hard. Usually, the option appears when you click on the phone number that called you. You should be able to protect your number this way. The only thing you have to worry about is additional numbers that may come in. Stay vigilant, and make sure you do not share your number with anyone you do not absolutely trust.

Get Registered

One last tool you have at your disposal is registering your number. What you need to do is register your number on the national DO NOT CALL list. This service is offered to citizens by the government, and it is completely free. You can call 1-888-382-1222 to get this done, or you can do this online by visiting the donotcall.gov site. This solution isn’t perfect, but it can definitely help, so it doesn’t hurt to try it.

These are just some things you can do to try to stop these types of calls. Try some of them if not all to reclaim your phone number and to have peace again.
