So many times I’ve thought it would be a lot of fun to watch a 24 marathon from the beginning to the end. I don’t watch hardly any television, but when that show first came out, I looked forward to it every week. In the first few seasons, all the episodes had me on the edge of my seat, covering my ears and completely glued to the television.
Someone else thought it would be cool to have a 24 marathon too, and the result was a new Guinness world record! Just last week, in Los Angeles, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment sponsored a “24 Marathon Challenge.” 100 people showed up to be in the contest, and they all started watching 24 at 9:30pm.
Long story short… Kevin Coon, Victor Lopez and Farris Hodo watched back-to-back episodes of 24 for 86 hours, 6 minutes and 41 seconds. As part of the contest, they were allowed a ten-minute break every two hours to go to the bathroom, make phone calls, or whatever. To stay awake, they did pushups, smoked and splashed cold water on their faces. @Minervity, you know you could have stayed awake way longer than that and won this, right? Lol
Each one of the three winners received $10,000 and their name in the famous Guinness World Record book. I thought it was fun to learn what they plan to do with the money. Kevin plans to fix his Jeep. Victor plans to buy a new guitar for himself and a bunch of guitars for the Boys & Girls Club, and Farris plans to pay bills and take his wife out for a nice sushi dinner. Congratulations guys! You deserve it!
