The Cat Came Back

In the wonderful world of twitter, I was reminded of a cartoon I watched (thanks @maddisondesigns), must have been in the mid 90’s, of a cat who, well, just kept coming back…

So after finding the clip on YouTube I thought I would do a little research…

The Cat Came Back was actually a book at first, written by Harry S Miller in 1893, it picked up a song which was then used in the 1988 short animation, which is what you see below.  The film was made in Canada, directed by Cordell Barker, produced by fellow award-winning Winnipeg animator Richard Condie

Did this strange animation appear in your childhood?  Interestingly the part I remember most is the ladybird on the track…
