The Guide To Employee Morale [Humor]

I’ve been reading more and more reports lately that talk about how much Americans don’t like their jobs. It’s really disturbing, considering how much time we spend working during the day. I started a conversation about this on my facebook last week. I haven’t worked in a traditional office for over a decade, so maybe I just don’t know what it’s like to work in that environment anymore.

However, I know that I work much harder now that I office from home. I’m pretty much always at work. It’s an unusual way to live really, but I love it and wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m sure if I worked in a traditional office where I was micromanaged and not allowed to tweet or visit certain websites, I would feel unhappy too.

According to this recent article in Business Banter, 33% of people in America (that’s one in three!) are seriously considering leaving their jobs. That number seems high to me, but from everything I’ve read lately, it’s probably correct. The question is, will most people leave a job where they are unhappy or will they stay working that job just because change is so uncomfortable? Cain at Cain’s Brain created this nifty little chart which describes employee morale Monday through Friday. I know this was made to be funny, which it is, but I wonder how much truth is also in this little comic. What do you think?
