When I read about this, the first thing I thought of was how so many of my Twitter friends (including me) have trouble sleeping. I don’t know whether what we have is officially insomnia, or if it’s just a massive twitter addiction. Maybe it’s a combination of both. We can make up a new word called Twitsomnia, which can be the combination of too much Twitter and too little sleep. I suppose it might help if I didn’t sleep with my iPhone, but that’s a whole different article.
There is a theater show going on right now in London called Lullaby – The Sleepover Show. It’s a show designed to put the audience to sleep. To date, nobody has ever been able to stay awake for the full performance. That’s quite a track record! For this show, the theater itself gets transformed into one huge bedroom. Instead of sitting in uncomfortable theater chairs, the audience gets in bed for the show. The extravaganza begins at 10:30pm and ends at 9:00am. Audience members are encouraged to bring their pajamas and toothbrushes. There is an intermission when everyone brushes their teeth and gets all snuggled up ready for sleep.
According to the Duckie, “Lullaby is a moonlit soporific serenade followed by seven hours of slow-wave sleep rounded-off by breakfast to send you on your way.” If I lived in London, I’d be at this show a few times a week. It sounds like heaven to me. If you live near there or will be visiting soon, you can go to Barbican to order your tickets. You can also read this review of the show at Blog Critics. Doesn’t this sound like a great place for a Twitter insomniac tweetup? I’m in.
