You can set deadlines for yourself and tackle the space one room at a time (“I want the kitchen finished by Friday”), or start with the essentials (like bedding and toiletries) and save the decorative pieces for last.

The previous owners may have handed over their keys, but how many spares are floating out there in the world? You can never be sure, and it’s always better to be safe than sorry. You might also want to find where your circuit breaker is in case of power outages. It’s better to locate these essential pieces of your home before you’re in an emergency situation and need to find them in a panic.
Get A Security System
If you don’t have a home security system in place, now is the time to do so! Party On
The most important thing to do once you’ve moved into a new home is throwing a housewarming party! Pick a date a few weeks after you’ve moved in so that you’ve finished your unpacking deadline, and have your friends and families over to check out the new space. Don’t worry if your home isn’t perfect yet; you’ll have plenty of time to rearrange furniture or start repairs. Now is the time to celebrate your big move.
