Simplest Ways You Can Cleanse Your Body Of Toxins

Every day we are exposed to toxins. The detergents and household cleaners we use, combined with the overall poor air quality that exists inside. Outdoors there are exhaust fumes, pesticides, and toxins emitted from local factories. Our food contains artificial ingredients and chemicals. All this exposure builds up over time and it is important to detoxify your body from the toxins. When to Detox.

Your body gives you signals that it needs a cleanse. There are several things to watch for including.

  • Fatigue
  • Rashes and hives
  • Dry skin
  • Dry and brittle hair
  • Soft or cracking fingernails
  • Frequent headaches
  • Dark circles under the eyes
  • Frequent viruses
  • Poor concentration

These are your warning signs that your body needs a break from the toxin exposure. There are some simple steps that you can take to cleanse your body and reduce the number of toxins in the future.

Change How You Eat

Today’s diet of pre-packaged, processed food, fast food, and convenience food is not conducive to a healthy body. Treat your food like medicine and carefully choose everything that crosses your lips.

Fewer Processed Foods

Shop at farmers markets and in the produce section of the grocery store and avoid the processed foods. Removing all these chemicals from your diet is the first best step. Choose a healthy smoothie or fruit for breakfast, and pre-plan all your dinners so you aren’t tempted to order food or hit the drive-thru.

Foods Rich In Nutrients

Choose fruits, vegetables, cheese, dairy and protein based on the nutrients they contain, rather than how convenient they are. Dark green vegetables and bright berries are excellent choices. Choose fish over beef and yams over potatoes.

Eat Healthy Fats & Protein

Cutting the fat out of your diet is not a healthy choice. Your brain needs healthy fats. Your muscles and entire body rely on your protein intake. Choose avocados, fish, nuts, seeds, chicken, peanut butter and healthy oils like coconut oil.

Drink More Water

Your body is made of 80% water and relies on you to replenish it daily. Avoid sugary drinks and diuretics and stick to clean and fresh water. If you need a little flavor, add some fresh fruit or pick up naturally flavored soda water. Water helps purge the body of toxins and increases your alertness, so make sure you are getting at least 12 glasses a day during a detox. Tammy Barber from LifestyleCleanse.co.uk explains that removing toxins from the body can not only give you more energy but will help your body lose weight more quickly.

Take Supplements

Some vitamins and minerals are difficult to get in our diet. Vitamin D is hard to maintain all year long if you live in a northern climate. Take supplements that support your personal nutritional needs. There are some supplements like turmeric, Omega 3 and magnesium that can help with your cleanse and your overall wellness. Consult a doctor or naturopath to find the best choices for you.

Exercise

Move your body. Include intentional exercise in your daily routine by going to the gym, taking a long walk or bike ride, swimming laps or hitting the tennis courts. In addition to the planned activities, increase your overall activity level by choosing the stairs instead of an elevator. Park far away from the door. Walk the kids to school. Take the dog for a walk. Each little change that you make will take you one step closer to having a healthy body.

Get Proper Rest

Getting the right amount of sleep, which varies from 6-8 hours for most people, is essential for a cleanse. Your body has been working hard to clean out toxins and needs time to recuperate. Get to bed at a decent hour. Leave the screens outside of the bedroom. Practice meditation before bed and use a sound machine if that helps. Getting quality sleep is vital for wellness.

Reduce Exposure to Toxins

You can reduce your everyday exposure to toxins by choosing organic foods and natural cleaning products. Use public transportation or carpools rather than putting a car on the road for one person. Pull weeds instead of spraying them and grow your own vegetables if you can. Reducing the toxins around you will not only improve your quality of life but the health of everyone around you.

Your detox does not have to be a once in a while event. You can choose to live a healthier life every day by taking these same cleansing steps. The end result can only be a healthier and happier you.
