Check Into Foursquare By Marking Your Territory (Like A Dog)

As Richard often points out in his articles, people send us emails each day of interesting things you guys might like. We love it that when our readers find cool things, they think of us and send them to us. Last night we received an email from Jeffrey over at Eco-Snobbery Sucks, and he shared with us a little device that I still can’t believe someone even thought to create.

This is a pee seed pack that a guy can pee on to “mark his territory” and check into Foursquare. I suppose a girl could do it too, but the only pictures I’ve seen of girls peeing outside are when they are drunk, or camping, so it would probably be unlikely that girls would use it. However, I know a few girls who would get a kick out of trying it. :)

As if this wasn’t weird enough, here’s where it gets even weirder, this technology is designed to give you a “check-in gradient score” based on how much you pee on the stick (as in the quantity of pee). In Foursquare terms, that translates to “how there were you?” To make this even more nuts, if a dog (or any other animal) comes along and pees on your pee (which apparently dogs like to do), he will also digitally register on Foursquare. It’s like the ultimate of two worlds colliding.

The downside to this device is that not only will you gross out every girl in the county if she sees you doing this, but also, you will only be able to check into Foursquare if you physically go there, place the stick in the dirt, and pee on it. This has got to be the strangest thing I’ve seen in a while. It reminds me of the warm water to wake up your bowels in the morning, the toilet restaurant and the outdoor tree urinal design. You can learn more about this device at Mark Your Territory, and you can get the geeky directions for how to make your own pee thingy at Instructables.
