As I’ve written before, I’ve never blogged before I came here to Bit Rebels in 2009. As a matter of fact, back then, the phrases search engine optimization and web traffic didn’t really mean anything to me. A lot has changed in two years. Now Richard and I work together almost all day every day growing Bit Rebels. We study, research and learn through trial and error about what works and what doesn’t. It’s truly the most exhilarating adventure I’ve ever been on.
If you aren’t immersed in web stuff daily like we are, you might wonder what websites are made of. That’s the magical and mysterious part of the whole concept of the Internet. On the surface, it’s all just a computer and a keyboard, right? What the user sees and what’s really happening behind the scenes are two very different things. Many people have no interest in knowing what lies in the background.
For those who are interested in pulling back the curtain to see what is happening behind there, I have a fun little infographic that explains it all in a very concise way. If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen me tweet in the past about how much I despise email. If it were up to me, I would never use email again. I found it interesting that according to this infographic, email is not going away anytime soon. Bummer. I also found it interesting that 46.9% of Internet users around the world use Internet Explorer to view websites. How can that be right? IE? I mean, really? This also points out that a 1-gigabit connection is still not fast enough to transport a human being via a Star Trek matter transporter. Hmm… Someday :)
