Arc Touch Mouse: A New Era Has Begun

I rarely write about anything that Microsoft does anymore, and I am kind of ashamed about that. Sure, they have the XBox, Kinect and all that, but I don’t necessarily think that’s Microsoft for some odd reason. When it comes to products from Microsoft, I have been off put by the lack of innovation they have showed us lately. Their gadgets just don’t match up with what I am looking for anymore. I don’t know why that is, and I want to strongly point out that it has nothing to do with me being an Apple fanboy or anything like that because that I am not. I try to view technology from the standpoint where I constantly ask myself if I need it, and what it could do for me.

Today I stumbled over something that I find to be rather awesome, and it is from Microsoft. The thing alone is definitely cool, and the fact that I really like the technology behind it is certainly not making this gadget any less wanted by me. It’s a new kind of mouse that Microsoft recently presented called the Arc Touch Mouse. That name doesn’t even begin to tell you what this mouse will let you do.

The mouse itself is created to be mobile in every way. It’s thin, light and packs an awesome technology. The fact that you can bend it to fit your hand and then make it straight again when you want to put it in your back pocket for example is awesome. The touch pad on the front of it and the “scroll wheel” are what I find to be the coolest things about it. It doesn’t have any moving parts; however, when swiped, it makes movement underneath your finger without moving. It’s all to make you feel the scrolling instead of just a silent swiping. As I said, this is an awesome mouse, and I for sure would like to try it out and compare it to the Apple touch mouse. Is this a new era for the mouse that we’re seeing? The one thing that strikes me though, if I should say something about it all is that… Don’t you think the video looks a little bit like the ones Apple usually creates for their gadgets? Hmm…
