Behold The World’s Most Expensive Camera

I think anyone who has been around computers for a long time still marvels over the technological breakthroughs that we keep hearing about every day. I’m not just talking about the minification of processors and the increasing power they are able to push out, but also the tools that we use in our every day lives that before would take up entire rooms, but now fit in our pockets. The curious thing is that we keep seeing these things being introduced at ever lower prices. With research, the parts and manufacturing process by which they are made becomes cheaper, and as a result, the gadgets themselves become cheaper as well.

However, that doesn’t always mean the quality they are able to produce is better. When it comes to cameras for example, the digital technology made us take a step backwards when it comes to quality, but we took a step forward when it comes to the ability to share our pictures with everyone else. So that leaves a lot of questions, one of which is definitely whether or not the cameras from yesterday are better than the ones that are available today.

If you look at it from a price perspective, you will quickly find that yesterday’s analog cameras perform much better, and the price for an old camera can be significantly higher than any new digital system camera you can think of. Take this Leica-0 Serie camera from 1923 for example. It recently became the world’s most expensive camera, and to compare it to some of today’s DSLR cameras would be down right ridiculous. It recently fetched a price of $2,790,000, and it is by far the world’s most expensive camera ever sold.
