LikeBelt: The Obscene Way To Like On Facebook

It has more or less become a culture or even a lifestyle to figure out how to get the most “Likes” on Facebook. There are countless articles out there that describe a multitude of different approaches to get the best results out of your campaign. What you do, and how you do it, is of course the key to your results. However, there is a whole other level to it all. Ingenuity is a level that a lot of people miss when it comes to getting more likes on your posts as well as on your Facebook fan page. Ingenuity is a large and quite broad word to use, and it can sometimes be hard to understand what it means. In this particular case, I am pulling you in the direction of the technical approach.

Just have a look at what DeepLocal created for example. It’s a whole new way to update your Facebook profile or page. It’s called the LikeBelt, and if anything, it’s a unique approach to interacting on Facebook using the real world as your playground. So far, we are totally into it, right? Well, then there is that awkward thing about the whole process of updating your status. What you have to do in order to make the belt work is to get the NFC (Near Field Communication) device as close as possible to the thing you are about to like, friend or show your location.

So what does this mean, and why is it awkward? The thing is that in order for it to “read” the object it derives its information from, it has to come really close to it. This means you have to basically do the awkward humping motion towards your object. Yup, as I told you, it’s quite a unique approach. It’s not yet an official product; however, there is open source information presented on DeepLocal’s website that will take you through the process of creating your very own LikeBelt. Well, I guess it’s time to start liking each other… really close.
