Ping Clothing: Share Your Life On Twitter – Without A Keystroke

Are you one of those people that constantly updates your location on your mobile through FourSquare for the entire world to see? Good for you because now you don’t have to bother doing it yourself. There’s a new invention getting all the attention right now. Some people argue that sharing your location is a serious threat to your privacy. If you think about that statement, it sounds quite ridiculous. I mean, if you want to share your location, of course it is a privacy issue, but then again, you want to share your location, so at the same time it’s not.

Well, in either case, if you’re one of those people always on FourSquare making yourself the property of the Internet, then this new thing called “Ping Clothing” is definitely for you. It’s a set of clothes with embedded electronics that can detect what you are doing and send out tweets about it. It’s a hardware/software solution that even let’s you know if someone replies to your tweets by tapping you on the shoulder.

It doesn’t stop there. You can assign different tapping patterns for each person that is following you thus knowing exactly who replied to your (the clothing’s) tweet. Whatever you are doing, this set of clothes will always be one step ahead of you and share it with the world. For example, if it’s hot outside and you want to take off your jacket, your clothing will know you unbuttoned the jacket and thus tweet it.

This clothing line is not yet commercialized, but the prototype is done and designer Jennifer Darmour hopes her “Ping Clothing“-line will get a push in the right direction by people showing their interest in the product. So, if you are a Twitterholic then this is definitely a step up to a new level of becoming the next Internet celebrity.
