Technology can be daunting, but it can be fun too. I am lucky that my world revolves around so many fascinating facets of technology that go with my job. We are immersed in game development, application development and my favorite, augmented reality. Developers are really experimenting with different ways to use the technology.
I have seen some amazing applications for augmented reality. Virtual shopping is one created by Zugara. Another is an album launch created especially for John Mayer and a concert by Blink 182. I went through some of the amazing case studies with @leahbesajimenez, and she showed me Doritos’s new augmented reality creation. It was pegged as the biggest augmented reality in the world.
For those who are not familiar with this technology, a marker is usually used to enable a graphic image to be superimposed onto reality. Usually the image is done in 3D so when you look at it on your computer, it seems that the graphic image is real. In the new Doritos’s AR, a giant marker was created and placed on top of a building. A helicopter was used to view the image. It’s really fantastic. You’ve got to watch the video to see how it works.
