The Next Generation Real Life Jukebox Is A Geek Must Have

As technology geeks, we’re constantly looking for the next cool thing. It doesn’t matter if it won’t catch on to become the next trendy thing, you just have to have it. Of course, it is a matter of price as well, but looking back, it’s apparent that gadgets that never caught on to be trendy usually sell for far more when they eventually become retro and ancient (in a way). If we take cell phones, for example, you might not have the same value in the gadgets since new models are almost released on a daily basis. But if we’re looking at jukeboxes, for example, we’re entering a whole new league. An authentic jukebox can bring in several thousand dollars if not even more. It all depends on the condition it is in along with a number of other things.

The jukebox is something that I think all of us associate with the 50s. You would put in a quarter and chose the song you want to hear. They were usually available in restaurants and pubs, but became even more widespread later in the 50s. The question now becomes, is there a future for jukeboxes?

The people over at Frog Design really think so. They created the TouchTunes Virtuo: The SmartJuke which can only be described as the next generation jukebox. It’s a wall mounted touchscreen model with the characteristic side panels that light up. Whenever I get a house or an apartment suited for such an awesome little gadget (and if I ever get rich), I am definitely going to look for one of these. Connect it to a music service like Spotify, and I will never have to think or worry about finding the right music ever again.
