There are so many types of toothbrushes available these days, unlike when I was younger. The toothbrush was simply created back then to clean our pearly whites, but now there are specially designed ones to clean our tongue and gums too. After the toothbrushes, different types of toothpastes with several formulations started to show up too, with the objective of making our teeth stronger and to prevent plaque build up.
University of Saskatchewan dentistry professor emeritus Dr. Kunio Komiyama and his colleague, Dr. Gerry Uswak, are recruiting 120 teens willing to brush with this metallic invention and sit in a dentist’s chair for a few extra inspections. They have recently gotten funding for this solar powered toothbrush.
There is a solar panel that protrudes from the base of the brush which transmits electrons to the top of the toothbrush through a lead wire. Those electrons react with acid in the mouth, which helps to break down the plaque that builds up on teeth, thus eliminating the need to use a toothpaste. However, the creator says we can still use a toothpaste if we desire.
