I love coming across a truly creative background on Twitter.
With each new follower, I take the time to check out the background art (along with bio and link) before I follow back. Backgrounds can include a number of different qualities in addition to creative, such as informative, good design, to-the-point, personal, and professional. The best backgrounds are the ones that include each of these characteristics.
We all know that first impressions can make or break any relationship. The same goes for finding new people on Twitter. Twitter backgrounds are important for any person, brand, or business using the social media king to gain new followers. A good visual representation of yourself or brand can convince anyone to follow and engage.
I recently re-designed my own Twitter background to help new followers get a better idea of who I am and what they can expect by following me. Before doing so, I browsed through my own followers list and built a collection of examples of great Twitter backgrounds. This list includes the most creative designs that “work”. By “work” I mean provide the viewer with a visual representation of the user. Please leave your comments on your favorites in this list. The collection is those of my own friends on twitter (and my own at the bottom). If you were left out, please find me and send me a tweet, lets connect. (@printedproof)
