Andrew Steel Unforgettable In “The Life I Can’t Remember”

Andrew Steel delivers an brilliant performance as Terrence in ‘The Life I Can’t Remember’, a ‘Lifetime’ thriller that’s been demanding attention with an estimated 150,000 views in just three months since premiering on the popular cable channel.

The story follows Emma and her doctor husband, Dean, as they deal with the aftermath of a horrible accident that has Emma suffering amnesia and struggling to navigate a complicated web of trust and betrayal.

Andrew plays Terrence, Dean’s friend, who initially seems sweet as pie but soon reveals a glimpse of a much darker side. Steel’s ability to balance charm with menace keeps viewers hooked from start to finish. What really stands out in Andrew’s performance is his ability to add subtle complexities to his character, captivating the audience every second he is on screen.

The scene where Emma see’s Terrence for the first time after her accident is a great example of this. Andrew masterfully shifts between warmth and a cool calculation, that goes undetected by Emma, leaving the audience with a sinking feeling in the pit of their stomach. Whether it’s a simple change in posture or tone, it’s these finer brush strokes to the performance that make Terrence a truly unpredictable and compelling character to watch.

Steel says that to fully capture the essence of Terrence, he dove deep into the psychology of deception. He created a detailed backstory that he referenced to help shape his every gesture and line, creating the rich tapestry that is Terrence.

The strength of his performance is in the nuances. In moments of confrontation, he expertly blurs the line between honesty and deceit, leaving Emma, Dean and the audience constantly questioning what’s real. His ability to make Terrence simultaneously charming and a sleaze ball, captivating and unnerving is a testament to his craft.

Steel is an award-winning NIDA trained actor and has a wealth of experience in theatre, film, and television across both Australia and the U.S. His past work includes roles in Home and Away, Wonderland, Days of Our Lives, The Justice Lease, and Deadbeat Dads.

More recently, Andrew starred in the #1 globally trending Netflix film ‘Wish Man’, a biopic about Frank Shankwitz, the creator of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The film screened at major festivals like Cannes and Toronto and was even considered for Best Picture at the 2020 Academy Awards, Steel himself was in consideration for the Best Actor Oscar.

Most recently Andrew’s portrayal of Tyler, an award winning music producer in the Passionflix studio film ‘Lick, was quite literally rockin! Tyler is a key supporting character, critical to the plot, bringing warmth and energy that resonated with both the cast and audience.
