If you’re an artist, you’ve probably noticed the increased interest in cardboard lately. Cardboard is the trendy design material at the moment. Of course some designs are better than others, and this almost life-size Lamborghini replica definitely stands out. When I first saw this, I was immediately taken aback by how huge it is. It’s almost like having a real Lamborghini. Okay, maybe that’s a stretch, but it’s the best cardboard car I’ve seen. The fact that it’s a Lamborghini makes it even better.
This Lamborghini replica was created by graphic design artist Taras Lesko. His wife dared him to make this, and he took on the challenge. It’s a Lamborghini Aventador A-E2 made with only cardboard, paper and glue. You can see in the pictures below that he also created a small version of the Aventador Interceptor.
Before Taras decided to use cardboard as his material, he created just a wheel to be sure it would work. He learned then that cardboard would be perfect for his Lamborghini replica, so he continued on to create the whole car. You can watch the time-lapse video below to see the whole process.
In one of the pics, you can see the huge templates that he got from the print shop. He hand-cut each one of those templates. I can only imagine how long it took to put this whole thing together. It looks like he had a lot of fun along the way. This isn’t the first time he’s created a papercraft car, but this was his biggest project yet. This car cost him about $1,000 to make. If you click over on his link (above) you can read more about it and the lessons he learned along the way. It truly is the ultimate papercraft supercar!
