I don’t think I’ve ever seen the words brutal and knitting in the same sentence before. When I think of knitting, I think of sweet grandmas who carry around a little bag with different colors of yarn and knitting needles. I don’t usually think of scary masks that might give me nightmares.
This wonderfully creepy craft project by Tracy Widdess is inspired by sci fi and horror movies that she’s seen. Many people have even commissioned Tracy to create specific designs. I wonder if they actually wear these masks or if they are used as a decoration only. I would wear one on Halloween for sure. I can’t think of an easier way to give the kiddies a good scare.
Many times when we see designs made to give you a chill like this, they are created with dreary boring colors. I really like how Tracy was able to incorporate all these beautiful colors while maintaining the creepiness of it all. Very nice! If you would like to see more of her collection or purchase one of these scary masks, you can click over to Brutal Knitting. After seeing these, I don’t think I’ll ever think of knitting the same again.
