Disney Characters Go Steampunk In This Creative Mashup

Not too long ago Diana wrote an article about Steampunk Disney Princesses because as everyone knows, we just love steampunk over here. It’s one of those art styles that a geek can fully identify with I guess. The knobs, buttons and designs are all pretty, and even though the technology underneath all the customization is still the same updated technology, the things look just a little more “fun” to use. Whether or not that is the purpose of steampunk, I have no idea, but the fact that it raises interaction overall is a really good reason for me to like it to pieces. There are of course  customizations that go beyond what others do, but it’s when they are drawn out on paper that you can truly see the awesomeness of them, if you know what I mean.

It’s time to once again visit the world of Disney to see what a different take on some well known characters can do to our perception of the never-ending creativity of the brand. The idea to steampunk yet another set of Disney characters (except a couple) comes from deviantART user MecaniqueFairy. It is another epic look at what can be achieved with a little creativity and some skills. I honestly think some of these characters are actually more appealing with their steampunk customization instead of their original look.

Did Disney ever do a steampunk movie, or one that had elements of steampunk in it? Did Atlantis: The Lost Empire have elements of steampunk in it, or am I completely wrong there? It would be awesome if Disney could dream up a world where everything was a little more steampunkish. I think the world is ready for that, don’t you? Whether they are cartoons or real steampunk customizations, I will never stop being amazed by the creativity that makes up all of these gadgets and designs. The physical user interface will always be more appealing than the virtual. Of course, that is my own humble opinion.
