These little pinecones are wickedly cool. I normally don’t think DIY crafts like this are for me, but this particular one is brilliantly simple, and it’s perfect for any holiday decorating you may be planning. These pinecones would also work well for any little homemade gifts you’d like to give to neighbors, teachers or special friends.
Keri, a crafter, blogger and mother from New Orleans, made these fabric pinecones to decorate her own home this season. They can be placed in a bowl or hung from a window or mantle by adding a stringing ribbon. You can change the look and feel of your fabric pinecones by simply changing the fabric itself.
For example, using a sparkly fabric, a fabric with a leaf pattern or even a fabric with deep dark colors will all change the feel of your pinecones. You can mix and match them to get the exact look you’d like. If you would like to see the tutorial Keri put together for this DIY project, you can click over to her blog at Knitty Gritty Thoughts. I think this would be a great project to do with the kids on the weekend!
