Mind Twisting Futuristic Holographic Light Sculptures

As a technology freak, I often find myself thinking about tomorrow’s technology and how life will be 10 years from now. Further down the road, I am sure we’ll see another revolution in technology. It will be something that will rival the Internet, the industrialization and even the wheel. What that could possibly be is of course almost impossible to predict. What is sure is that the human race will never stop inventing things to make life easier and more optimized. This usually leads me into thinking about interior design, and where that field is heading. Things are clearly becoming a little more futuristic. We had a push for the “Tron” lifestyle a while back, and I think that is something a lot of people are still dreaming about, a high technology home with lots of futuristic gadgets and designs.

Artist and light sculpture pioneer Makoto Tojiki is one of the most brilliant sculptures in modern day. He mainly works with light, and what fits better in a futuristic home than a couple of innovative light sculptures, right? His artwork, called No Shadow, has become a viral sensation and can only be described as a cord carbon copy of the holographic system. Standing at a distance will make it appear as such, and even if you walk up to it to take a closer look, you will be amazed by the accuracy that Makoto managed to implement into his sculptures with just a few lights.

This is certainly something I would choose rather than a shiny armor suit if I ever got a house big enough that it would make sense to have one. The impression is instant, and you know that it is something out of the ordinary by just peaking at it. I have tried to decipher the way he creates his light art by looking at the images, but it’s almost impossible. I assume he uses some kind of fiber and reflectors to create the dots, but I guess I could be entirely wrong. Either way, these are some badass sculptures, and I think it will be a while before I will get impressed like this again when it comes to art created with light, especially now that I have seen these.
