Unimaginable Paper Pop-Up Houses Become Reality

As kids, I think we all came across one of those pop-up books every once in a while. You know, the ones where each page became a 3d paper forest or maybe a house. They were all kind of simple designs, but for a kid, it is a whole new world that pops up. Looking back at them now, we are not so impressed anymore. Maybe that has to do with growing up, or maybe we are just so spoiled with the technology wonders of the world that little impresses us anymore. The investment in thought that it must have taken to create those pop-up books was probably considered massive back then, but when you have a look at today’s paper pop-up creations, those older ones fall into the shadows. This is especially true when you have a look at the new Kickstarter project by Katherine Belsey.

At an almost unearthly speed, it seems she has perfected the paper pop-up house creation process to an almost unimaginable level. When you look at the video she made in order to raise money for a new DIY paper pop-up house book, Katherine slices up paper like there’s no tomorrow. The precision is nothing less than impressive, and within a couple of minutes, she could probably cut and create a paper pop-up house from scratch without ruining the integrity of the paper itself.

It’s amazing how someone who is so dedicated to their trade can become a master with almost unprecedented skills. Katherine is currently looking to raise $5,000 in order to complete her book, and after just 9 days she has already crushed that initial goal by already having raised almost $18,000. If you want your very own paper pop-up book, all you have to do is pledge $25.00 and you will receive a 48-page full color book when the project is completed. People like Katherine have always impressed me to the brim. Their dedication seems to have no boundaries, and no creativity seems impossible to spawn success from. Have a closer look at this project, and I am almost certain that you will be as impressed as I am.
