Photos From The 1870s Turned Into Superheroes

Old photographs have been the subject of ridicule for a lot of people as they’ve gotten older. How many times have we heard phrases like, “How could you wear that?” or “Haha, look at your haircut!” Going through your old photos isn’t exactly a joyride sometimes. You have to have a certain amount of distance to your old self in order to fully appreciate the comedy in your choices through life or you will most likely feel left out in the rain, if you know what I mean. People tend to want to forget their past and their choices, and I guess this is subject for an even bigger concern if you won’t fully commit to your past. It’s always better to live today with a fresh thought of yesterday than to live today without a past, right?

BUT, as always there is a savior in the misery. If you find yourself dodging the jokes about your old photos, I am sure you will fully appreciate this little technique. Why not do what artist Alex Gross did for his latest exhibition installment? Take your old photos and create something new with them, make copies of your photos that is. Turn them into pure awesomeness by molding them into photographs of superheroes instead.

That way you won’t have to worry about people keeling over when they look at them if they are a bit… odd. We all have photos which we don’t quite understand ourselves. With this new approach, you can stand tall and smile while you show off your awesomeness. Sure, there might still be a bit of awkwardness in them, but at least you will come across as a creative genius. Even old photographs can be recycled into something that you can truly show off and be proud of.
