Pixel Galaxy: Awesome Homage To Retro Game Boy Graphics

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a sucker for 8-bit graphics. I simply love the old and retro way games used to look. I even find myself playing games today that have the 8-bit look, and those include of course Minecraft, Terraria, Tiny Tower and some other really entertaining games. I am sure there are plenty more, but these are the ones that have caught my interest lately. Whenever I have a few extra minutes, I kick them on and play for 10 minutes or so before I get back to work again. I think I read somewhere that people who play games have a tendency to be more creative and productive at work, and I can totally understand that.

I think anyone who loves the Nintendo NES or first generation Game Boy knows what I am talking about. The style and cool of the graphics back in the ’80s are just too awesome to be rivaled by some hot shot 3D first person shooter with a graphics engine that took probably a couple of million dollars to produce even before any game content was added. I think there are a ton of people out there who are ready to relive their childhood dreams by playing some retro games.

For all of you who really LOVE the 8-bit graphics style, you will be pleased to know that there is a book available soon by Sergio Ingravalle that will take you on a ride down the memory lane. This book, called Pixel Galaxy, is an homage to the ’80s style and awesomeness of games. You’ll find everything in there, and most are likely to put you right back in those dirty sneakers in front of your telly with a controller in your hands. Stuff like this just makes me go all nuts! I hope Sergio finds a publisher for this awesome piece of historical timeline for any geek!
