100 Pixelated Camera Illustrations To Use Any Way You’d Like

You already know that we have a love for everything pixelated. There are a lot of artists who are inspired by the retro look of pixelated graphics, and we’ve featured everything from paper art to sugar cookies that all have a pixelated flavor to them. I think today I might have stumbled across someone who likes pixelated art even more than we do though. That person is Bill Brown, a designer and artist who lives in Massachusetts.

Bill created a collection of 100 pixelated camera illustrations for anybody to download and use in whatever way they want. According to his website, he used Adobe Illustrator to make the graphics and Isotope for the layout of the images. But that’s not all…

The way he has this set up, you can either download all 100 cameras, or you can capture just a section of them. He has them neatly organized into the categories of traditional, tall, lomography, DSLR, point and shoot, polaroid, disposable, lens, flash and storage. He put all 100 cameras online under a Creative Commons Attribution license so anyone can use them. It’s just important to give him credit of course.

Now more than ever, photography is such a huge part of our lives. Combining the always inspiring pixelated art style with cameras was such a creative idea. Since almost everyone has a camera built into their smartphone, it seems like traditional, personal cameras would be obsolete. Luckily, there are still a lot of people who like the high quality photos that only a traditional camera can provide. Personal cameras aren’t quite old school yet, but they are showing up on more and more “things we don’t use anymore” lists. Someday those cameras will probably be retro, just like the pixelated graphics that remind us of ’80s video games. You can click over to The Camera Collection and download your own set with the link below. Thank you for doing all this work, Bill!
