Since I just learned how to swim a couple summers ago, I’m like a little kid when it comes to swimming pools. I love to see all the different designs, and there are definitely some creative ones out there once you start looking. For example, I recently wrote about this dumpster swimming pool, which is obviously a pool made from an old dumpster. Hey, don’t knock it; I’d get in that thing. Then there was this collection of hotel balcony swimming pools, which blew my mind. I’ve never stayed at a hotel with a pool like any of those, but if I ever did, I’d be in the pool the whole time.
The swimming pool I’d like to show you today isn’t spectacular because of its creative shape or design, it’s just simply all about size. As a matter of fact, at first glance, you might even not realize this is a swimming pool. It kind of looks like it’s part of the ocean.
This swimming pool is the world’s largest swimming pool, and it’s six times larger than the pool in the number two spot, so whoever designed this made sure it would hold the number one position for a while. It’s 3,324 feet long (1,013 meters). It also holds the record for being the world’s deepest pool since it’s 115 feet deep in the deep end. It holds 66 million gallons of water. And, yes, those are boats you see navigating through it. Apparently, the water is so clear that you can see all the way to the bottom, even in the deep end. If you would like to swim in this pool yourself, you can visit the San Alfonso del Mar resort in Chile. Dang, I’m sold, who wants to go with me?
