We write a lot about design here at Bit Rebels, but I feel like sometimes we neglect one huge area of design, and that is of course tattoos. Tattoos are such a widely spread concept that to not include them in the world’s entire body of artwork would be a sin really. I mean, there are some nasty looking tattoos out there that could possibly be called insane. But there is also a domination of tattoo art that really deserves the attention of any good or bad designer. We should remember that it’s ultimately impressive to know that tattoo artists don’t work on a regular canvas. There is also a limited supply of erase and undo approaches when you work with skin as your canvas, which makes them even more impressive.

Getting a tattoo today is quite an ordinary thing, at least here in Sweden. The majority of tattoos though are small and personal. They are created to honor a memory, to state a new beginning or just to enhance the mindset each and every day. When it comes to mega tattoos though, we enter a whole other class of artwork.
