Ultra Realistic Paintings Will Make You Question What’s Real

After being on the Internet since probably its early beginnings, many of us have seen some really cool stuff shoot by on the screen from time to time. Of course, there’s a lot of junk, but sometimes there are things that create a lasting memory. It doesn’t happen too often, but when it does, it sure is an odd experience. I am sure you wouldn’t disagree. Now stay focused and try to follow me for a second and listen to what I am about to say. Have you ever seen something so realistic that you were absolutely 100% sure it was real, and then you found out it wasn’t? It could be a drawing, a sculpture or even papercraft. Well, these things are rare, but when they hit us head on, we are sure to take notice.

Today was one of those days, and I am still in a creative shock. Mike Bayne is the artist who caused me to investigate further, deeper and thoroughly in order to make sure his work wasn’t just some ole photographs he managed to blow up into what looks like paintings. It turns out that these things really are paintings that are created to look ultra realistic. It’s an odd experience looking at them since you really want to tell your mind that they are photographs. Do you know what I mean?

Just have a look at these paintings and then say to yourself, loudly, that they are just paintings. It rhymes badly with what your brain wants to think, am I right? I think it’s amazing that someone’s eyes and brain can work so closely together to work out the shadows, lighting, luminescence, glow and realistic focus, angles and proportions to create something that is as close to reality as what Mike has been able to create. There are no words that I can use to express how impressed I am at this very moment. Amazing seems to be a word that doesn’t even come close to what I want to say about these, so I will just have to stay quiet and admire these paintings over and over again.
