4 Casino Games You Have Probably Never Heard Of

If you’ve stepped foot inside a casino before, you are probably familiar with the range casino games typically available and might have even tried your hand at Blackjack, poker or roulette. A lot of these games are being updated as technology improves and mobile apps become more popular. If you’re interested in trying video poker, have a look at Ladbrokes’ guide to playing video poker, which will teach you everything you need to know. Alternatively, try something completely new and check out these games which you’ve probably never heard of.

Red Dog

[pullquote]Red Dog is a card game which uses a deck of 52 cards that are shuffled after each round.[/pullquote] The rules are relatively simple. The card values are the same as in poker. In each round, the player places a wager. Then two cards a dealt face up, if they are consecutive then that hand is a push. If the cards are equal, another card is dealt. A matching card means that the player is paid 11:1, if it isn’t matching then it’s a push.

If the cards are not consecutive or equal then the dealer will place a spread (the number of card values between the two cards). A third card is dealt and if it is a value in between the first two cards the player wins. There are various strategies to playing the game and more in-depth rules which can be found in various online guides. Not one of your usual casino games is it?

Sic Bo

Sic Bo comes from ancient China, although it has been around for years it is not particularly on of the more popular casino games in the West. It is a dice game, in which the players must predict the value of three dice.

Once the bets are placed on the table, in a similar way to they are when you are playing roulette, then the dice are thrown. There are various combinations which can result in a player winning, or losing, for example, if the three dice have equal values the player loses.

Pai Gow Poker

Pai Gow Poker is a casino game based on a Chinese domino game by the same name. It isn’t that widely played but it is becoming increasingly popular in Las Vegas. A pack of 52 cards and a joker is used, each player is dealt seven cards. The players split their cards into two hands, one with two cards and another with five.

The values of the five card hands are the same as in poker, with the exception of an A-2-3-4-5 hand, which is the second highest type of straight flush in Pai Gow poker. The player has to arrange the five hand card so it is higher than the two card hand. Then the dealer also lays down two hands. The aim of the game is for the players to beat the dealer’s hands. This game is yet again not one of the more well-known casino games available.

Wheel Of Fortune

This is a fun, wheel-based game that is very easy to play. Also known as The Big Six or Money Wheel, the game involves players spinning the wheel and placing bets on the number the wheel will stop on. The odds are the same as the numbers on the wheel.
