The spring of 2023 was the start of a major expansion project at Bay Mills Resort & Casino. The casino in Brimley undergoes a $65 million renovation project.
It is also set to create a large number of new job opportunities for the residents in addition to additional amenities for visitors. Plans are for the project to be completed in its entirety by 2024.

2023 is set to be a very productive and successful year for Michigan’s gambling market.

It was earlier reported that Bay Mills is set to start construction on a $65 million project in 2023. The current Bay Mills facilities are undergoing several renovations as part of this $65 million project.

134 extra balconied rooms, a brand-new restaurant, a spa with massage treatment rooms, a pool with a water play area, hot tubs, a nail salon, a fitness center, an arcade, conference rooms, and a storefront.

New fishing piers, gazebos, gardens, marina renovations, outdoor patios, and other external resort improvements are all part of the expansion plans.
The Launch Of DraftKings Sportsbook In Bay Mills
In addition to the project, Bay Mills Resort & Casino planned to launch a retail sportsbook. Bay Mills launched a temporary DraftKings retail sportsbook in June of 2022 with the intention to finish the construction by the Fall of 2022.
That long-term vision was complete. Bay Mills made a grand opening on November 6 during Week 9 of the NFL season right before a match between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers.
The full DraftKings Sportsbook now includes an over-the-counter ticket cage, a big television wall and odds board, and many self-service kiosks.
Bay Mills has had a lot of success online with DraftKings Sportsbook MI. With approximately $88 million in revenue, it ranks third in Michigan’s all-time sportsbook handle of $1.61 billion.
Who Manages The Bay Mills Expansion Plan?
The Bay Mills Indian Community has put its expansion project up for bid this winter. This project’s architect is DSGW, a group that specializes in architecture.
According to BMRC General Manager Richard LeBlanc, guests like Bay Mills Resort & Casino. The firm will be able to go even further with this development to better serve its visitors and provide them with Lake Superiors’ one-of-a-kind experience.
More than 200 people work for BMRC, which opened in 1995. The casino has two restaurants, a golf course, a gift shop, a hotel, an RV park, more than 600 slot machines, eight table games, and more.
According to Whitney Gravelle, president of BMIC, Bay Mills Indian Community has a long history of being a leader in Indian Country. Expanding the business enterprise operations will enable it to keep expanding and surpass all other destinations in the Upper Peninsula.
She added that the crew and tribal nation of Gravelle are extremely proud of this accomplishment.
