Is Inception A Rip Off Of A McDuck Comic?

I saw Inception the other day and found that it was one of the best movies I have seen in a very long time. I enjoyed it so much that I am actually considering watching it at the cinema a second time just to get all the details right. The concept of the movie is very interesting from a multitude of standpoints. However, that is not what this article is about. It will also not be about the ending which I am sure a lot of people could discuss for ages and ages.

Nope, it’s all about the concept as a whole. It was recently discovered that Inception wasn’t the first to think up this dreamy concept. It’s actually already been dealt with in a number of McDuck comics. It’s is true. The thieves use a device that ultimately puts McDuck in a dream state… and the story continues as the movie goes… pretty much.

Whether Christopher Nolan, director of Inception, is trying to hide his true source if inspiration is not yet apparent. However, it is easy to see that the concepts have an almost uncanny likeness, and I keep wondering how it all could be so closely related. Funny that the world’s second most grossing movie of all time in the Sci-Fi genre (after the Matrix series) is almost an exact copy of a McDuck comic. Don’t you agree?
