Remembering Michael Jackson 2 Years After His Death

It’s hard to believe that next month will mark the second anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death. It’s so sad that someone who was so talented and brought so much wonderful music into the world for us all to enjoy died at such a young age.

I thought it might be fun to pay tribute to Michael Jackson today by writing an article featuring his beloved Neverland Valley Ranch in California. Today the ranch is owned by the Sycamore Valley Ranch Company, LLC; however, it was home to Michael Jackson from 1988 – 2005.

The property is an astonishing 3,000 acres. I wonder how many people it took to cut that lawn! At its prime, there were two railroads, Ferris wheel, carousel, roller coaster, bumper cars, petting zoo and tons of other fun rides and adventures. Michael Jackson used a read a lot, and there was even supposedly a library containing over 10,000 books on the property as well. In 2005, he moved away from the ranch and said that it no longer felt like home. By 2006, most everything on the ranch was closed down, and the staff members were all let go.

I think he always knew in the back of his mind that he was going to die young. I remember reading about that. In October 2010, reports came out that Michael Jackson’s children Prince and Paris intended to buy the property. I think it would be wonderful if they did. I’m sure that would make Michael happy. Michael, you may be gone, but you will never be forgotten!
