Dead Computer Room: Makes You Want To Say WTF!

There you are typing away on your computer not thinking about the fact that one day it will be yesterday’s technology. We never think of our stuff that way until we finally find or see something that puts our gadget to shame. Then we work like mad people to get it, and we just toss the old one away like it never meant anything to us. Yeah, you know what I mean. Right now it looks and feels like the best gadget in the world, but soon enough it will only be a memory which you’d rather forget. That is around the time we start to realize stuff doesn’t run as smoothly as it used to on our computer anymore. There’s only one solution, toss it away and get a new one!

What happens with the old computer when it is discarded? That is something that we certainly never think about. Well, it ends up in the Dead Computer Room or the real title of it “You Sometimes Have To Be Open.” You’ve never heard about it? Me either, and if you think it’s a big pile of crushed computers, you’re wrong. As a matter of fact, it is something so cool that when you see it, you just want to break out a shout and scream, “What the F–K is THAT?!

Marek Tomasik, a Polish sculptor and designer since he was 4 years old, created a room made entirely out of wood and dead computers. It looks like something out of the Matrix, but this is part of a bigger art world he is creating. The room, which measures 5m x 4m x 4.5m, is created out of three years worth of old discarded computers which he has carefully assembled into one heck of a geeky room. I am not sure what the purpose of it is or will be, but it apparently is some kind of installation. Well, that in itself is quite funny if you think about it, computers and installation… Get it?
