World’s Most Expensive LEGO Solid Gold Brick Now Up For Grabs

We have talked a great deal about LEGO throughout the years here at Bit Rebels. My own humble opinion when it comes to LEGO is that it is the solution to everything. If you can’t build it out of LEGO, it ain’t worth pursuing. Nah, but LEGO is a universal toy that has become almost a must-have for anyone who likes to be creative. It doesn’t really matter what you are trying to build, if you have enough bricks, you can build it. As we all know, there are more and more creative and technological blocks being added to the already huge number of bricks available. However, there are not many of the more luxurious blocks available at our disposal. Until now that is! This legendary gold brick is probably going to ruin you, but it will also make you the most luxurious LEGO builder on the planet.

Recently the world’s most expensive LEGO block was put up for grabs over at Brick Envy. It’s a 2×4 gold brick that is made entirely out of 14K solid gold and will set you back around $14,500. Does it sound like something you would like to pursue? Remember this, rumor has it that LEGO was giving out one or two of these blocks annually from 1979-1981, so if you manage to get your hands on one of these then consider yourself lucky.

The gold brick itself weighs 25.65 grams and comes in a really neat little gift box. LEGO fans all over the world are of course drooling when they see this marvel, which I am sure you are able to incorporate into your builds if you want to take it out of its confinement. I wouldn’t play around with it too much though considering what it is worth today. Losing it would be one of the worst experiences you will ever have. There’s only a few of these gold bricks out there, so I guess there won’t be too much playing with it to be honest. Then again, professional LEGO builders have been doing mad things for years, so why not use this little gold brick as well, right?
