Facebook, YouTube, Nintendo… The Honest Logos

I probably don’t even need to mention the fact that we’ve all been there, where we find ourselves immersed in the amazement of finding new and awesome viral content on the Internet, right? We’re constantly trying to find something awesome to share with our friends that we’ve recently made on the social networking services we use. Yeah, this especially points to me and my co-workers out there who live for the discovery of great content in the world. What I really mean is that the search and discovery of new content really can become a huge time sink that keeps us occupied for hours on end if we don’t limit ourselves. But then again, why should we? A laugh makes us live longer they say, so what the heck, right?

The funny thing is that what the social networking services really promote is something entirely different than what we use them for, usually. Facebook has become a brand and networking platform where finding old friends really comes second, at least in the network of people I am connected to these days. Even though friends have a slightly increased rate of clicking that “Like” button, we here at Bit Rebels continuously hope on changing that. If we do, it will solely be through the relationship with our subscribers and readers of Bit Rebels. So, we want to do whatever we can do to make you laugh even more. Please never hesitate to send a tip or suggestion on what subject you would like to see more articles about, and we’ll do our best to comply.

With all this in mind, it’s easy to make the connection between all the logos we are accustomed to and to read between the lines to make them into what they are really about. This is exactly what designer and visionary artist Viktor Hertz did when he created a set of really cool and funny “honest” logos out of the ones we’ve seen millions of times around the Internet. So as a suggestion, next time you see or use one of these brands, make sure you see them for what they really are. It could save you a few hours here and there if not a number of years in your life. #SomethingToThinkAbout
