Do you guys remember when I wrote “Can’t Afford A Car? Build A Lego One…” back when Bit Rebels was kind of new? There were a lot of people actually commenting on the article about its authenticity. Some curiously said it was photoshopped (I believe they said that just to stir up a debate), while some people were simply amazed by the awesome quality and build.
One thing is for sure though, the time it took to build that mammoth thing must have been quite extensive. The car of course wasn’t drivable, but it stayed on four wheels, which enabled it to be rolled around for easy transportation.
Now it seems people are no longer impressed by the Lego builds of cars, and instead, they resort to more… muscle generated transportation. The guys behind Brickapolis know what they are doing, and they put together a genius full size Lego bike in an all lovely green color (hmm… not really lovely, but green). The bike is big enough for any grown person to take a ride on it; however, I am still fighting the fact that it is a working prototype.
Although it doesn’t say anywhere that it is a working bike, they sure seem to come off that way. The bike, which was shown during the recent Brickmagic festival, is one of those odd things that geeks have a tendency to create. However, building something in a life size format, yet not making it a working “thing” is something that I personally will never understand. I guess it’s just one of those excuses, “we did it because we can!” kinda things. Either way, it’s brilliant and deserves to be put in the spotlight. Green? Hmm…
