Have you ever heard of a seed bomb before? I hadn’t until today. A seed bomb is a little round handmade ball made from clay, compost and seeds which are in a vending machine. You pay two quarters, get one out, and then throw it wherever you want. It will start growing a beautiful little green patch wherever it lands.
What a fun, creative way to reclaim some of the cities that have lost all sense of nature. I wish they had these vending machines in Atlanta. I would much rather my son get one of these than one of those gross artificial gobs of bubblegum.
According to their website, Commonstudio, the place that sells these vending machines, even develops the seed mix as well as a strategic neighborhood intervention plan in response to the unique ecologies of your area. Wow, this is just so fresh and inspiring!
