These Cult Movies Become Oxymorons When Watched Backwards

Movies are usually meant to give us something to think about. They usually have an educational value that will change how we think and rethink things. Of course, there are some movies out there that are created just to give us a heck of a ride and to entertain us. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was an underlying message in pretty much every movie ever made. Whether we take it in or not is probably up to us in the end. I am a thriller movie fanatic, and I watch so many movies that most people would probably call it unhealthy. There are aspects of movie watching that I am sure most of us have never thought about before. For example, what if you watched your favorite movies backwards?

It so happens that sometimes we don’t have to be the first to think about things like this. Twisted Sifter actually thought about what meaning cult movies would give us if we watched them backwards. Not only will you know the ending (or the start in this particular case), but you will also see a whole new storyline emerge that I am sure you never thought could come from the exact same movie that thrilled you before. As a matter of fact, the cult movies that we have all enjoyed actually become oxymorons in a way.

Just have a look at these 10 cult movies and what meanings they will have when you watch them backwards. It’s quite a different story, isn’t it? So I guess there is a sublime message in every movie ever released which is the complete opposite of what it was when it was viewed from beginning to end instead of the end to beginning. My favorite has to be the reversed message in the movie Jaws. The plot line for it backwards is, “It’s about a shark that keeps throwing up people until they have to open a beach.” Brilliant!
