The Ultimate Geek Marriage Proposal Guide [Infographic]

For a while now, the Internet has been overflowing with geek proposals that will make your head spin. Some are of course more elaborate than others, but they have all one thing in common – they are planned to make a lasting memory. Most of them certainly do as well! Who can ever forget the LCD engagement ring box or the Iron Man arc reactor proposal box? It’s not exactly every day you see proposals like these, so what would be better then than a geek marriage proposal guide, right?

As a geek, a proper marriage proposal can be ultimately creative. You don’t have to be a genius to see that when you look at the above proposals. However, there are some things you should look closely at when you start planning to ask that partner of yours to marry you. There are some rather interesting facts I would like to deal with first, before we get into the nitty gritty of things. One out six people consider themselves to be geeks. The question is of course, are they really?

Being a geek today is a little bit different than what it was a couple decades ago. Nowadays everyone with a pair of geeky glasses considers themselves to be a geek, and maybe that’s why we are seeing so many interesting geek proposals going viral on the Internet. The creativity stored up in geeks is nothing less than amazing. So what are the things you should think about when you are about to propose?

Well, in order to look at it all from a geek’s perspective, we need the statistics. This proposal guide says that 33% of all women think that proposing without a ring is the biggest proposal mistake you can ever make. So, whatever you do, don’t forget to buy a ring! (Duh!) On top of that, you should also know that this proposal guide infographic says that 57% of women proposed to (who presumably said yes) will share their ring on Facebook or any other photo sharing social networking service, so you better make sure the ring is something out of the ordinary. No pressure, right?

I could of course go on and on about all the “technical” stuff mentioned in this proposal guide, and how geeks approach things from a slightly different perspective. But I am not going to bore you out with my lingering. Instead, have a look at this fresh infographic called The Geek’s Guide To Proposing presented by eHarmony. It will certainly provide you with all the intricate and statistical information you may ever need when proposing to your partner.
