Watchmen Owl Ship Flawlessly Recreated In Lego

It’s been a while now since the movie Watchmen made headlines and topped Box Office charts around the world. The movie in itself was a breath of fresh air for most movie goers, while some had trouble taking it in due to its artistic feel and visuals. However, the movie did well, and the effects were some of the coolest we’ve seen yet, at least back then. Just like with all things that become a cult phenomenon, Watchmen was a quick target for spoofs and other humor related craftiness. It’s been a while since we’ve really seen anything about the iconic movie, until today that is!

Recently I found something that I first thought was real recreated mockup, but as I read up on it more, I understood that it was entirely made out of Lego. The Watchmen Owl Ship build is so refined that I had to search for the Lego elements to prove that my initial assessment of the object wasn’t indeed something “real.” Flickr user Maegnus really threw me off with this one. I am usually very quick to spot if something is made out of Lego; however, this one was quite hard to distinguish. It wasn’t until I saw the transparent button Legos in front that I really knew it was of course Lego it was made from.

Not only is it built out of Lego, it is also almost absolutely correctly portrayed. The blue lights and the flamethrower in the back are skillfully added as well, which make this build one of the coolest imagined from the Watchmen. The only thing that might possibly be a little off with this build, according to the fans I’m sure, is the color of the ship itself. And I agree, it’s a bit off, but what the heck, you can’t get everything perfect, right?
