Doesn’t it seem like everything comes on a stick these days? I’m not sure if it’s a food trend or if I’m just now noticing it, but foods on sticks are everywhere. It used to be that you would only see foods on a stick at places like the county fair or at an amusement park. However, now I’m even seeing them at the supermarket in the frozen food section.
Even last night, I grilled kabobs with steak. Again, it was a food on a stick. I’ve made popsicles with juice and sticks in the ice cube tray for years, but now we can be so much more creative than that in the kitchen with a handful of wooden sticks.
Just for fun, I’ve searched the Internet for interesting foods on a stick. I’ve narrowed it down to my top twenty. Some of these look really yummy, others would make me gag, but either way, they are all fun to look at. I’ve created this menu for you. I’ve labeled the ones that are hard to distinguish. Which ones would you like to try? Some of the bugs and sea creatures below may look creepy, but in certain parts of the world, they are considered delicious. I would definitely like to try that chocolate covered Twinkie! I think I have to draw the line at the silkworms and the scorpions though. My skin is crawling just thinking about them. Enjoy!
