When you look at the picture below, would you ever guess that was bacon and egg ice cream? I hear it tastes really good, but I don’t know that I’d be brave enough to try it myself. I guess it’s not any stranger than putting pieces of lobster in ice cream, and apparently a lot of people like that.
Now bacon and breakfast lovers all over the world can have a delicious dessert designed just for them. I can’t help thinking that it would be a mind twisting experience to eat this though. Just the thought of eating something cold that is normally served hot would be strange. I suppose I would try it after all. The acronym YOLO is so overused, but in this case, it fits.
If you’d like to try this, there are really only two options. You either have to visit The Fat Duck restaurant in Berkshire (near London), or you have to make it yourself. Lucky for us, Instructables member makendo posted a detailed recipe for this. These pictures below are from makendo’s posting. I looked at the recipe, and beware, it doesn’t look easy, and it can’t be made all in one day (since one part has to sit in the refrigerator overnight). But then again, I wouldn’t expect it to be easy to make something as fabulous as this! You can check out the recipe and detailed directions at Bacon and Egg Ice Cream. If you want to see another unusual bacon delicacy, click over to Bacon Dippin Dots – Ice Cream of the Future (which is made with liquid nitrogen).
This is a more complicated version.
