11 Burgers Way Too Pretty To Eat: Artistic Food Design

Of all the food design articles I’ve written, this one is definitely on my list of favorites. I’m a huge fan of burgers, and these are some of the best looking burgers I’ve ever seen. You might notice a pattern when looking at these, and that is that they are each created to symbolize a popular news story or holiday. One of the most fascinating aspects about each one of these burgers is the list of ingredients that was used to get the look just right.

For example, in the burgers below, there were salmon eggs, pears, coconut dust, baby corn, wasabi and many other odd edibles that you don’t normally find in or on burgers. Of course, there is a big dollop of Photoshop mixed into each one too.

This is all part of a fun burger food design website called Fast & Furious Burger which was put together by two graphic designers named Thomas and Quentin. It all started when they found themselves bored each day at lunchtime. Their process is relatively simple. They scour the headlines to find inspiration for their creative burgers, they team up with restaurants who are willing to help realize their burgers and then they add their graphic design expertise to bring them to life in these photos. And, yes, believe it or not, they actually ate each one of these burgers too. I can’t help but wonder if some of these tasted a little less pretty than they look.

Now that you have gotten some food design inspiration to consider next time you make some burgers, how about some ideas about how you can cook them in a more creative way? One group of friends already came up with an idea for how to grill up those tasty burgers in a very unique way. You can read about that at Car Exhaust Pipe Burger Grill For People On The Road.
