Gooey Sticky Popcorn Cake: The Ultimate Movie Snack

Even though this isn’t a food blog, we still have fun writing about food designs. This is especially true when they look like works of art. One thing I have learned is that an artist can be just as creative in the kitchen as in the art studio, and there really is no limit to what can be created with sugar!

If you’d like to check out some examples of how foodies transform their kitchen creations into fabulous art, just look at these chocolate Lego bricks, this lollipop chair or even the story of how the world began, illustrated in cookie dough. Out of the dozens of fun food design articles we’ve written, I think my favorite is still the gummy bear chandelier that Richard wrote about last year. That article has become somewhat of a cult classic here on Bit Rebels.

Sheila at Cookies and Cups is one of my favorite food bloggers. Thanks to her sugar obsession, she is constantly coming up with new creations to share with her readers. This popcorn cake is one of her originals, and I couldn’t resist sharing it with you. According to her blog, it’s a “cake made of buttery, salty popcorn, dotted with colorful M&Ms and salty pretzel sticks, all held together by sticky, sweet marshmallow.” Holy bajeeeeezus! This creation takes movie popcorn and candy to a whole new level. If you would like the recipe to make this homemade deliciousness for yourself, just click here.
