You know we celebrate all kinds of creativity here at Bit Rebels, and this is definitely a great example in a somewhat twisted way. When I was a kid, part of the time I lived with my two stepsisters who are twins. I didn’t have any trouble telling them apart since they looked different to me, but they were identical twins, and everyone at school (even the teachers) got them mixed up constantly. If keeping twins straight is tough for teachers, imagine how difficult it must be to tell quadruplets apart, especially if they are all four identical.
A mother and father with quadruplets in south China were experiencing this problem until they came up with the ideal solution. They shaved numbers on each kid’s head. That’s right…In that family, you don’t have a name, you have a number. This has not only helped the teachers at school, it has also helped the parents since they can’t tell the difference between each kid either. Their mom, Tan Chaoyun, said, “My sons are identical, even to me. Even now, their father can’t tell which one is which. Sometimes, he punishes the second one for something the third one has done.” Really? I bet it is fun to live in that house. Imagine all the pranks those kids could play.
As you see, the kids are labeled with a 1,2,3 and 4. I wonder if the kid with the 1 feels like he’s the favorite. I mean, he is called “number 1.” If I’m not mistaken, they were numbered in the order they were born. I’ve always said, there are definitely advantages to being the oldest sibling (even if it’s only by a few minutes, which is probably the case in this family).
