11 Persistent Pinterest Myths Debunked [Infographic]

I have been using Pinterest for a few years now, and I just can’t stop pinning. It’s not really an addiction, but it’s as close as you can get to one, I reckon. The platform has enabled me to find new inspiration when inspiration has been in short supply. Not only is Pinterest one of the bigger players on the social media playing field. But with its more than 100 million monthly active users, the platform is a great source for traffic. However, the social network has conjured up a few persistent myths through the years and in this article we are going to debunk some of these Pinterest myths in hope that more people start using Pinterest. If you are not using this network, you are severely losing out on some potentially significant traffic.

To debunk a few of these myths we are going to use an infographic called “Pinterest Myths Debunked” created by Tailwind. At first, I found the infographic to be a little difficult to interpret, however, after a while, it became a lot more understandable.

The first and perhaps the most common of the Pinterest myths floating around out there is that people seem to think that Pinterest’s user are only made up of women. Thit is entirely false, and I can point out many examples where entire communities on Pinterest deal with gadgets, men’s products, etc. I strongly suggest checking out Pinterest for your favorite topics and you will find an almost unlimited supply of pins covering them.

Another one of the persistent Pinterest myths is that your follower count is the most important metric. Not true! Once again, social media is not a game of who has the most followers. It’s about who gets the most engagement. If you pin great content, you are bound to get a lot of followers. It has been proven over and over again.

The infographic found below deals with a few more persistent Pinterest myths that just has to be debunked. Once you have read through the infographic, you will find that Pinterest is a social network that you just have to utilize. It should definitely be your choice if you are running a business or if you are trying to build a community around something you are doing. I can’t express enough how important I think Pinterest is for a business. So, get on it and start pinning! It’s not only fun but it is also extremely rewarding. Don’t forget to follow us on Pinterest as well!
