Is The Internet Awake? [Animated Infographic]

Are you awake? That is the one single question I keep asking myself since I can’t get any sleep most of the time. When someone asks how or why I can’t sleep, there is no real answer that pops into my head. Maybe it’s too much excitement. However, as with anyone, long periods of not being able to sleep shatters the inspiration sometimes. Even though I don’t like to admit it, most of the times I do need sleep as well. The adrenaline from working with the things that I love keep my head up and about most of the 24 hours of the day. If you think the Internet never sleeps, you might want to rethink that thought and modify it just a tad.

As a matter of fact, the Internet is quite a living and breathing organism with a life of its own. EdlundArt studied this phenomenon and deigned a truly (and I really mean it) remarkable animated infographic that will enable you to see exactly when the most amount of users are using their broadband connection and surfing away on the Internet. There is of course some underlying statistical information about these circles and how they move, and I would suggest jumping over to EdlundArt’s website to get into the depth of it all.

As you can derive from this animated infographic, the most number of users on the Internet happens somewhere around 5:00pm EST. We here at Bit Rebels have studied this ourselves, and we actually publish our articles when the masses are online in order to catch the crowd. We are continuously monitoring the development of traffic (in real time), and we see some major differences between night and day when it comes to Internet’s night and day time. You are welcome back at any time to have a look at this animated infographic to plan your own events on the Internet. It’s always good to consider when traffic is at its busiest to make sure your content, social networking or whatever other event you are involved in truly goes public.
